Sometimes a combination of bike storage methods works best. Little ones can use kickstands, and everyone else can use off-floor or shed storage.
Kickstands and floor stands are best for smaller kids. If your bikes have fenders, disc brakes, or fat tires, you'll need to compare floor stand and wall mount measurements before buying. The best bike storage combination might be a combination of these methods.

#1 The Best Kickstands for Kids' Bicycles
All bike kickstands should be easy to install, be made of tough material, and have a non-slip end.
Adjustable bike stands should be easy to adjust, yet allow you to lock them at any height you want.
To find the height of the kickstand for your bicycles, check the tired for the imprinted measurements.
It will say something like 16 x 2.4.
The “16” is the size kickstand you want to match when you are shopping for a kickstand.
It corresponds approximately to the wheel diameter.
The 2.4 is the tire width.
The Seisso kickstand is a good kickstand for kids' bikes sized 12, 14, 16, or 18 inches high.
It's made of carbon steel and features an anti-slip reinforced foot.
It is not adjustable, so get the right size according to the tire mark measurement.
Kickstands are relatively cheap, so you can buy one each time you upgrade the kids' bicycles.
However, if you want longevity, get an adjustable kickstand that grows with the bikes.
To install the Seisso kickstand, remove the back wheel bolt, slip the kickstand on so that the slot sits on the bolt, and tighten the lock nut around to hold the kickstand against the bike.
This kickstand holds the bike steady in the garage and on uneven ground.

#2 The Best Kickstand for Adults' Bikes
The BV kickstand is adjustable between 24 to 29 inches.
It has a concealed, spring-loaded latch to change its height without using tools.
It also has a non-slip foot for better stability on uneven ground, and it comes with substantial installation hardware.
To use this kickstand, there should be at least a 2.75-inch gap measuring from the center of the tire to the pedal; and a 1.9-inch clearance from the center of the bike to the kickstand.
Because bikes vary so much, not all top picks will work for all bikes.
That's why I chose the BV brand because they have a good reputation for solid kickstands.
If this one doesn't work, they'll have a quality bike kickstand that does on their page.

#3 The Best Floor Stand for Children's Bicycles
Some bike floor stands are kid-friendly, but most are not.
Horizontal stands hold the bike upright with both tires on the ground or in the air.
Vertical stands always require that you pivot the bike so one tire is in the air.
A little kid will be comfortable with a simple horizontal floor stand, which keeps both tires on the ground.
After that, these parking devices are for bigger kids and adults.
Even within the horizontal floor stand space, kids will be comfortable with some designs and not others.
A little kid might not be able to push a front bike tire into a locking floor stand slot.
However, most kids should be able to position their front tires into simple static slots.
Pay attention to stand measurements if your bikes have fat tires, fenders, or disc brakes.
These can interfere with positioning the bike securely into the allotted space.
CyclingDeal (which is a brand of Bikehand, a well-loved bicycle accessory company) offers a simple rack for children's bicycles.
It's called the Floor Parking Rack, and it holds six bikes (3 on each side).
The slots are wide enough for road and mountain bikes.
The Rack supports tired up to 2.36 inches (a 2.4 inch will barely squeeze into the slots.
A small child should be able to maneuver the bicycle's front tire into this rack.

#4 The Best Floor Stand for Adults' Bicycles
The Bikehand Parking Rack allows you to store bicycles with tires up to 2.4 inches wide.
The Bikehand is for older children and adults, but not smaller children
The Bikehand is spring-loaded, allowing it to hold a bicycle upright without a kickstand on the floor.
The Bikehand supports very heavy bikes.
It will probably handle your bicycle with disc brakes, but sometimes brakes are too wide to fit.
It does bikes with fat tires or fenders.

Bikehand sells a multi-bike version of this beautiful rack on their Amazon page.

The 5-Bike Rack holds up to 100 lb. Its hooks adjust to the left or right to give wider bikes more room.

#6 The Best Gladiator Garage System Bicycle Hook
A slatwall is an organization system you mount to wall studs.
Once the wall or tracks are mounted on the wall, you can put the drill away.
After that, the hooks you use for storage clamp onto the system with just a locking mechanism.
This allows you to move storage around without nails or screws.
My favorite garage slatwall is Gladiator, which comes in both a wall and a track variety.
Proslat is actually a tie, they're both good brands.

Gladiator and Proslat offer bicycle storage solutions you should know about.
The Gladiator bike hook installs on the Gladiator wall or track, or you can screw it into the wall or ceiling without using the proprietary wall mounts.
The Gladiator bike hook has a strong rubber coating, and solid, forged metal hardware.
The coating will not come off, and the hook will not bend under pressure.
The Gladiator Bike Claw has a 3-inch wide maw that can handle fat tires, as well as bicycles with disc brakes or fenders.
Unlike cheap ceiling hooks, the Bike Claw is closed, so the bicycle will not slip off.

The Advanced Bike Claw holds bikes up to 50 lb. and is easy to open and close.
