The Best Ladder Hooks

One thing I’ve found about ladder hooks is that a lot of them have quality issues with the rubber or plastic coating. The hooks themselves are usually strong enough. It’s just that the coating comes off, which leaves a cheap feeling all around. So I specifically set out to find a ladder hook with a sturdy rubber coating that lasts.

In fact, the best rubber ladder hook has:

  • a thick, sturdy rubber coating
  • a wide hook mouth
  • a decent load capacity
  • a reputation for holding up through time and weather

You can hang a ladder on the garage wall. If you have a slatwall or wall organization system, you should get the ladder hook for that system. Below you can find our favorite hooks:

  1. ladder hook for the wall
  2. Proslat slatwall ladder hook
  3. Gladiator slatwall ladder hook
  4. Rubbermaid track storage ladder hook

The Best Wall Ladder Hook

My favorite ladder hook for wall hanging is the TORACK 12.4 in. Heavy Duty Hook.  This massive wall hanger has a thick rubber coating and holds up to 300 lb., but is guaranteed to hold 50 lb. If your ladder’s weight is 50 lb. you can add a second hook. The package contains two hooks. If you use only one for the ladder, this design is excellent for hanging brooms, shovels and rakes.

This Heavy Duty Hook is over a foot long and curves upward at the end to cradle the ladder. This huge surface area distributes the ladder’s weight over more area compared to a regular ladder hook.

If you already have the Proslat wall system, you know that you can hang your ladder on this wall storage system. The only question is, which of the Proslat hooks is best for hanging a ladder?

The 8 inch Double is the best Proslat ladder hook. You can hang up to 50 lb. on one hook. Use two hooks if your ladder is heavier.

The 8 inch Double Hook means the ladder sits over a wider surface than if it were on a normal hook.

I love the Gladiator slatwall tracks and wall panels because you can store your garage stuff anywhere without pulling out a screwdriver or drill. The GearTrack is a single row of storage. The GearWall is a panel with four rows of storage. The Gladiator hooks work equally well with either type.

My favorite Gladiator hook for storing ladders is the Deep Hook. This hook has a meaty surface, a solid rubber coating, and the hook holds 50 lb. If your ladder weighs more, use two hooks.
